Referee Aids for Twilight 2000 4th Edition are a collection of resources for new and veteran T2k Referees alike!

Inside are a collection of diagrams and charts that combine some of the more complicated rulesets from 4th edition into single easy-to-read flowcharts with accompanying information. No more flipping through six different sections of the Player Handbook anytime your party gets into vehicle combat, or trying to remember where you saw that obscure rule about using telescopic sights during overwatch in tactical combat. Now you can quickly run through various game mechanics and feel confident that you're handling processes in accordance with the wishes of the game designers. Enjoy!

Do not pay for this product. The author has no concept of how to design a document that prints as readable pages. They made a "printable" version that is in no way printable and still be legible. In the author's defense, Free League should have made a Cheat Sheet for this game. It is typical of them to do the bare minimum to rush out a game that puts the onus completely on the players to make their games playable. I will be making my own Cheat Sheets.

Nice charts but impossible to print. Would skip if I could do again. Nothing but frustration.

Not impossible, but it does take a bit of work to rework it. I modified it in paint and printed it out double sided on card stock. It worked out great and I love it.

I'm not sure if this will help anyone, but I was able to print the "wide" PDF onto 4 sheets of A4 and it worked quite well. When printing from Adobe Acrobat, on the printer dialog, choose the poster button under page size & handling. On my PC this tries to fit the image to 3 landscape sheets across by 2 down, but if I change the "tile scale" to around 95% it changes to 4 portrait sheets. Then I can print and it prints the image onto 4 separate sheets of A4. You may need to play around with the numbers. 96% looked ok on the screen but printed on 5 pages with everything offset. I think the poster feature is in the acrobat dialog rather than printer specific dialog, so hopefully it *should* work for other people. But I've not tested it on anything else. Worth a try.

Eventhough the job as a whole is of quality and took I think quite some time to execute, the way it is made as PDF is appalling.
And bordering on utterly useless.
Sorry but the design does not make it easily usable.

I think until the creator makes each of these documents multiple pages I'll keep my "pay what you want" at zero as they are practically useless since they're just each a huge document (go ahead, it's PWYW down load them and take a look and come back here and join me in offering real money if they're made functional)

So I just dl'ed this and it looks very much like what I need. Still, even with the "printable" files I have no idea how to print this out reasonably. A 4-page document, for example, is presented as a single, long, horizontal PDF page. I can't think of any PDF app that would print that way. Why it isn't just formatted as a single doc with multiple pages is beyond me. Cheers to the author for the work though.

I purchased these a few days ago, and also had problems to print properly on an A4 sheet at a decent size.
For example, the Ranged Combat Aid could fill 3-4 A4 sheets, but even when choosing landscape mode, the result is too small.
I just cannot get a decent print size from these PDFs.
A pity really.

If a printer friendly version is made, please let us know. They could be very useful if printable.

I can see a lot of work was put into these aid docs. However, the layout and organization are a total mess, and practically unprintable.

I wish this could be formatted into standard print format (i.e. Letter/A4), but it looks like the layout would need to be remade from scratch for that.

Thank you for the feedback! You're absolutely right, in that the layout needs to be remade from scratch. With that said, based on everyone's feedback, I'm going to start rebuilding the diagrams to make the layout more printer-friendly. I just uploaded the improved version of the Ranged Combat diagram. It'll take some time to get around to them all, but I hope to get all of the more relevant ones converted, if not all of them eventually. Please keep the feedback coming!

these are surprisingly well designed but it's VERY hard to read. I still went back from $0 to $2 because they look pretty nice on a screen.

This would be MUCH more valuable (and useful) if it was formatted for either "Letter" or "A4" paper. I checked 3 files randomly and they were formatted (roughly) 12x7inch, 12x5inch, and 12x3inch. Very difficult to print, or to read once printed.
Suggestion: break each down to several Letter/A4 formatted files that can then be linked together either by tape, in a "DM Screen" folder, or (my preference) Laminated and then spiral bound. Preferably in Profile but Landscape would also be acceptable if there was consistency.
A very nice produce made useless by formatting.

Thank you for the feedback! I've gone ahead and added a new printer-friendly version of the Ranged Combat diagram. I plan to convert more of the diagrams to printer-friendly versions, but doing so is a bit of a lengthy process. Please keep the feedback coming!

I'm looking at the Close Combat (un)Printable file right now. It appears that if you were to just make it into 4 letter sized pages (8.5x11") it would be fine.

These are excellent and incredibly helpful! The only thing I would find fault with them is that they are fairly small (several being under 4" in height) which makes them a bit hard to read. Any chance of getting a bit higher resolution? Even if not, these are well worth the asking price!

Glad you enjoyed them! :D My apologies regarding the resolution - unfortunately each pdf is already at around 10mb. Increasing the resolution further than it already is would unfortunately cause some of the graphics to become fairly blurred, on top of making the files a lot more difficult to share across other mediums.

Just as an update, I believe I've found a way to upscale the files a bit more, though its requiring an entire re-do of the diagrams. It's going to take me a few weeks most likely, but they'll all be updated soon enough, and in a printable format. Thanks again for your feedback!

Yes, the printable versions are now available. There should now be 13 files available on this download. The six files ending in "printable" should be the ones you're looking for. They should all fit on between 4-6 pages of A4 paper, and have been reformatted to print out nicely as well as to have much larger font for easier reading. Let me know if you run into any challenges!

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
