Revised Carrying Capacity

Suggested Price $0.99

Do you like the idea of characters tracking how much they carry, but aren't super thrilled about having players track every single pound carried? (Because, you know, that's tedious and boring.) If so, this Revised Carrying Capacity ruleset may be just what you're looking for.

My Revised Carrying Capacity system uses the idea of small, medium, and large slots to help players keep track of how much their PCs are carrying. How many slots a PC has available is based on their strength score.

This system aims to be streamlined and easy to use. It is a balance between just ignoring carrying capacity entirely and counting every single last pound a PC is carrying.

Included in the download files are stylzed inventory sheets that your players can use to track how many slots they have available and what's in them.

~~Download Files Include~~

  • Revised Carrying Capacity Rules
  • Inventory Sheets using the new ruleset

Looking over the system, this is vastly easier to manage than having to deal with adding up pounds and cubic feet etc. I am wondering though, how would storage items suck as sacks and pouches be affected by this? Is there a way to convert the pounds they can carry to slots as well?

Unfortunately, we didn't consider that as part of the design. I suggest homebrewing something that makes sense for your game.

The fillable version of V2 does not allow me to fill it. Did you attach the wrong one?

Thanks for letting me know, Scott. I've re-uploaded the PDF to ensure it was the right one, and it still doesn't work when downloaded from DTRPG. I've uploaded the file with form-fillable fields, but DTRPG appears to be stripping the fields on their end or something. Not sure. I'm checking with my author contact to see if they can correct it on their end.

Scott, the fillable version should be working now if you re-download the file. Thanks again for letting me know about this issue.

Nice, I'll try this out with my group! One thing though, the inventory sheets seem fairly low res, do you have a higher resolution version?

Thanks, dude. I'm working with the artist now for the high res versions. Will try to have those as soon as possible.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
