Achtung! Cthulhu: Interface 19.40

Watermarked PDF

Achtung! Cthulhu is a terrifying World War Two setting, fully compatible with the Call of Cthulhu, Sixth Edition and Savage Worlds roleplaying games.

Evil Never Dies... It Evolves
Discover the secret history of the war that may (or may not) have happened: a time of strangely enhanced soldiers, more machine than man; a twisted future-past of occult and technological development and intrigue; and a society where humanity struggles to maintain its increasingly fragile grip on reality (whatever that might actually be).

Interface 19.40 adds a new alternate dimension to the Secret War, including:

- A variant, Mythos-Fuelled history for the Interface Zero 2.0: Full Metal Cyberpunk  setting, where ancient gods watch your every move from the shadows of the datastream

- New rules on how to include cyberware, Gruesome genetic manipulations, and even weirder science in your Achtung! Cthulhu games (Interface Zero 2.0 is reccomended for full rules on Savage Worlds cybernetics)

- A 33 page adventure, set in 1941, that can be played by characters from either World War Two or the Far Future

- In fact, a whole Crossover dossier’s worth of useful Alternate Historical and fantastical information to help you expand your campaign out into the wider world of the Secret War.

WARNING! Due to the nature of the themes discussed, this book is recommended for a mature audience only

Requires the Call of Cthulhu 6th Edition or Savage Worlds Rulebooks to play. This is a supplement for use with the Achtung! Cthulhu: Investigator's and Keeper's Guides.

The background and adventure is well written and provides some great jump off points for further adventures, but fails to provide any way of doing so without buying into another setting if you are running Savage Worlds as your ruleset. The book description says "New rules on how to include cyberware, Gruesome genetic manipulations, and even weirder science in your Achtung! Cthulhu games" which would, to me, say that the book should cover everything needed for the supported rules systems.

As it currently stands, this is only partially true as the weird science bits only cover the Call of Cthulhu rules and refers you to the Interface Zero books for any Savage Worlds rules. This is a shame as the cthulhutech section would have only needed a couple more pages to provide the alternative statistics and it would be approaching perfect.

Hi Paul, chapter 12 does include both Call of Cthulhu and Savage Worlds rules for Cthulhu-Tech implants. However I have edited the text to suggest owning the Interface 2.0 book will provide more detailed rules on cybernetics.

What books do you need for Savage Worlds? I'm guessing Savage Worlds Deluxe, but what else (e.g., Interface Zero)

You only need Savage Worlds Deluxe or Explorers Edition to play Achtung! Cthulhu with Savage Worlds. You would need the Achtung! Cthulhu Keepers & Investigator's Guide to play in the Achtung! Cthulhu setting oryou want to play in the Interface Zero setting then the Interface Zero 2.0 sourcebook instead

Nope. Or at least not on the two different computers and two different browser I tried (talking about the full size preview).

Is there absolutely any danger of the Full sized preview going up? Now, rather than the corrupted version we got before, we get "file not on server" message.

The quick preview works and shows the full colour version but for some reason the full size preview doesn't work, we're investigating!

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
