The Widow's Lament

ADD TO WISHLIST >
A TORG Eternity adventure in five Acts for Alpha Clearance Storm Knights.
Synopsis
It was meant to be such a simple job; just check in with some old doctor and investigate rumors of a haunting. How could we have known what we would find? Now we're trying to catch super villains in the Nile Empire, and hunt a dragon in the Aysles, just for a chance to win against what we uncovered. Honestly, Orrorsh just doesn't play fair!
Style
The adventure puts a heavy focus on roleplay, and rewards players for intelligent choices. There's still plenty of action for your combat oriented characters who will find some tough foes that might require teamwork to bring down. The story is written to be scaled for the number of players, and has been tested for two and four players. The Game Master can easily tinker it to make it more or less difficult to suit their party composition. There are also numerous suggestions for how to get the adventure back on track if the Storm Knights stumble in places.
Realms: Mixed Core Earth/Orrorsh (Myanmar); Dominant Nile Empire (Saudi Arabia); Dominant Aysles (Norway)
Timing: Roughly three to nine months into the invasion.
Format: 76 page full colour pdf using the Infiniverse Exchange Kit
Features:
Deep investigation, cunning traps, dramatic car chases, explosive ambushes; this adventure has it all.
  • Many detailed NPCs with back stories
  • Player handouts of Delphi Reports
  • 24+ hours of play time.
  • Adjusted for player numbers.
  • Statistics provided for all foes, weapons and vehicles
  • Artwork from many fine artists who provide for DriveThruRPG
Great value for the number of game sessions you'll get from this story.
Added:
A new Sourcebook Edition (SE) has been added to the library. This edition uses the new rules from the TORG Eternity version of the Orrorsh Sourcebook, and does require the new Sourcebook to play. Both versions are included in the package at no additional cost to people who have already purchased the adventure.
The original version was written based on the original TORG 1st edition, and some elements were revamped for the new TORG Eternity version, so those changes are now implimented. Thanks to new software, file size has also been reduced by about 30% without loss of print quality.

I really like this after giving it a read through, probably one of my favourite Inifiniverse titles so far. Any suggestions for running it for a Beta group?

Thank you so much for taking the time to provide feedback.

Upgrading for a Beta group will depend a lot on how your group is balanced. For example, if your group is combat heavy, then the foes will need a serious upgrade. How to do that will depend on the time you want to put in. Spending about 50XP on each main antagonist and upgrading their minions to more elite versions should do the job. If you already have the draft of the Nile Empire Sourcebook, then Ratel and the Golden Hornet can be given serious boosts with some of the new Perks. The 'Big Bad' will need special attention so the end battle doesn't become anti-climatic, so consider adding a couple of attribute points across the board and making the Dramatic Skill Resolution much harder.

Probably the biggest thing I can say from playtesting, is that the minions can become a little trivial for a combat-centric party, so they might really warrant a review for a Beta Group. Adding an attribute point or two is an easy way to do this....See more

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
