Seafoot Games - Seaside Hero's Tomb | 20x30 Battlemap

Once, a legendary hero fended off great evil from the depths below. Here lies his empty grave by the ocean’s edge—a symbolic marker of his sacrifice, for his body was never found…  

Many pilgrims journey here, to pay homage to his illustrious deeds.  

Adventure Seeds 

• An old, crazy man claiming to be the ancient hero has been lingering  around the grave, harassing any pilgrims who visit the site. You have  been paid by the distraught village leader to discreetly handle him, but when you arrive he claims an attack by a small, elite force of  sea-elves is immanent. He claims to have fallen in love with one of their own years and years ago—and their love formed the pillar of the peace treaty, after which he was gifted a longer than normal life under  the ocean, with them. But now, their original King has passed away, and  his son—the new ruler—is disgusted by the union, and seeks to erase those who live on the shores of his ocean; abusing their home with boats  and blood.  
• A mysterious force has slaughtered the inhabitants of a seaside town in the night, and—fearing an attack—the neighbouring village has paid elite adventurers to find the source. They track it down to an ancient hero’s grave, and footprints coming out from the  water…  
• At approaching the sound of distant fighting, adventurers find a dark-haired woman fending off sea elves; her back to  the tomb. She needs help or she will surely die. However, in reality, she is the jealous sister of the elf whom the hero loved, and has  returned to raise him from the dead in expression of her own, sordid love. His body was placed there after he died by the sea elves (see  earlier adventure seed).
