Sci-fi Props & Gadgets 2

This token package is aimed at expanding our first science-fiction collection of tokens with more Props and Gadgets. This art pack can be employed as a collection of tokens on the Virtual Tabletop during a game or as art assets during adventure map creation. This collection of assets gives you the Game Master a collection of Props such as computer units, sci-fi control tables, weapon “treasure” piles, auto-guns, etc. Combine these art assets with our Map Tiles. You have a complete cartography system for creating adventure maps for role-playing systems such as GURPS, Starfinder, Shadowrun, Paranoia, or any other science fiction-based role-playing game.

Token or Art Asset?

Science fiction workstation depicted on a 180 pixel grid squareThis pack contains a wealth of art assets in PNG file format, these image files can be imported into virtual tabletop roleplaying Apps for use as Props and Object tokens. But the same image files can also be imported into graphics editing Apps for use as art assets during the adventure map-making process.

  • Use as Tokens: When playing a roleplaying game (such as Starfinder, or Shadowrun) online via a virtual tabletop application (such as FoundryVTT, Roll20, or D20Pro) you will often need to use a token to represent objects that players can move around the adventure map. Such as treasure, furniture, or other such props and objects. Because the image files within this pack are PNG images, most Virtual Tabletop Roleplaying Apps permit the use of such images as tokens.
  • Use as Art Assets: When building an adventure map inside a graphics editing program (such as Photoshop, or Gimp) you can import the PNG image files contained inside this package to add tables, computers, chairs, and other science fiction objects to your adventure maps.
  • Token Scale: Tokens from Studio WyldFurr use a 3:1 scale, the same scale we use for our Map Tiles art assets. This scale matches three on-screen pixels to each real-world inch, giving us a map grid square of 180 pixels.
  • Compatibility: The Sci-fi Props and Objects II Tokens Pack consists of a collection of image files (.png), the PNG format is a widely accepted and extensively used image solution that can be imported into almost any virtual tabletop app (such as FoundryVTT, Roll20, d20Pro) for use as game tokens. The image files can also be imported into almost any graphics editing program (such as Photoshop, or Gimp) for use as art assets. Check your application's documentation about how to import image files.
Tailz
“Hello there! I am Tailz from Studio WyldFurr and I am happy to bring you the second pack of science fiction props and objects image assets that can be employed in map building or during an adventure, giving your players the ability to move objects about on the adventure map! This pack has many objects, from biological 3D-Printers to computer workstations and the ubiquitous sci-fi storage container.”
~ Tailz from Studio WyldFurr.

Object Sets

Each prop inside this art pack is a 3D rendered object that has been rendered from a number of different rotations to give a 360-degree view of the object from a top-down perspective. Plus all of the objects have been scaled to match the 180-pixel grid square employed for Studio WyldFurr's range of Map Tiles. There are 89 Token Sets inside this package, with each token set depicting one object from a number of orientations. There are Computer Units, Control Panels, Holo Tables, Chairs, Tables, etc. Plus a small range of static “scatter” objects.

IMPORTANT: This package is not a stand-alone game! It is a collection of image files that can be employed as tokens inside a virtual tabletop App (such as FoundryVTT, Roll20, D20Pro, etc), or as image assets inside graphics editing programs (such as Photoshop or Gimp). Please check your application's documentation about how to use imported images as character tokens.

Do the renders include an actual 'top-down' overhead render, in addition to the angled 'perspective' renders shown above?

I'm sorry but no. When I first started making Props & Object token packs I did include overhead renders. But the problem I found, was all the detail gets lost in a completely overhead view. For example, what is the difference between a box or a table in an overhead view? Plus there are plenty of other designers making overhead Props & Objects tokens, and I wanted to do something a little more dynamic. So I stopped adding overhead views.

Fair enough.
I like the quality of your graphics and the detail of the designs, as they're some of the best, but the perspective renders clash with 'overhead' walls and doors on maps, to me.

Bah, didn't take my edit!
Final line should have been "It's your workload, though, so fair enough."

I’m looking for a set that contains a surveillance camera like tokens. Both sci-fi sets look interesting but lack of item lists make them quick passes. I could make use of some I’m sure but I really need cameras.

I'm sorry but there are no surveillance camera tokens in the set.

I picked this up thinking that this included a license for commercial use. Oops. That was just a $10 mistake. Given that most people who might be willing to spend that on an art pack are professional cartographers who need it to include a commercial license, one would think that it would be specified in the product description that no option for this exists. As it stands, I'm just out the money and have no use for this product. I now have to go find another product with the same types of scifi images items that does include a commercial use license.

Very disappointing for a "Sci-Fi" pack. Pack contains many desks, tables, chairs, bookshelves, kitchen appliances, etc. Most tech items look like those that exist in the current time, or worse, something out of an 80's "future" movie. Basically, all of the interesting assets are shown above.

I'm sorry to hear that. In response to your feedback I've removed a number of token sets that appeared a little too modern. These tokens have been replaced with new science fiction looking token sets.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
