Welcome to Secrets of Tyland, the first campaign for Tyrnador: Fate of Ventar, a Savage Worlds high fantasy setting!

Stranded in the heart of the Tyland Forest, a desolate area in the south of Ventar, the heroes are involved in a complex plot involving a mysterious series of murders happening in the area.

Hello,

There doesn't seem to be a map for Stone Bridge, even though there is a detailed location key. Is the map available?

Also, to parrot the previous person, the inclusion of the star around Tyland Mill is just unneeded, a map without this, and perhaps in color, would be appreciated.

Another thing is a lack of scale on the map. Considering a party of Tower Warden Woodsmen can move 10 hexes a day, but only 4 on the road, this seems like an oversight.

I mentioned the same thing to Gramel, written as official feedback (which I'm hoping will be included into a revised version of this document).
I ended up drawing my own map for Stone Bridge but am hopeful that they will produce an official version.
Regarding the hex map, I decided that each hex was 5 miles (8km) however given that the spyglass in the Sheriff's Tower can see for 25 miles (!!), that is actually a very long way.

Hi Gramel,

regarding the Maps file that is provided, three questions:

Q1) is there a colour map available that could be added for the two hex maps (Pages 2 and 3)? I want to print the player map on a large A1 or A2 sheet of paper and laminate it. Colour would be better than Black and White if possible.

Q2) For the player map (Page 2), I'm a bit worried that the star around Tyland Mill might give my players too much of a clue. Would it be possible to have a version produced without that star? (I understand why the star is shown on the GM map, but I don't understand why it is on the player map).

Q3) One thing I did find difficult is where Tyland Woods is in relation to other locations on the Ventar maps. (I think I have eventually figured it out based on the reference to Old Oak, The King's Road and Varesia) A suggestion would be to create a map which shows where this adventure setting is located.

First of all: great product, I'm really enjoying it. But I do have one question:

Is it intentional that there's no maps (in the main book or the Maps PDF) for the Buried City of the Lurkers, or for Undertown? Every other location with room by room descriptions gets one, but not these two places, which I found strange especially since, being the biggest dungeons by far, a map would be greatly appreciated just to know how the rooms are connected (and also because some rooms, like Room 3 of Undertown, reference a map that apparently doesn't exist).

Just checking in - do you have an ETA for the update to include the maps for Undertown and the Buried City?

My group is about to embark on exploring Undertown, and it would be a big help to have a map - even just a rough/separate map for the GM would really help.

Btw, we're really enjoying the setting and campaign so far, thanks!

In the GM's Tips: Alternate Beginnings it is stated that there are notes for scaling the starting adventure if the group aren't using funnel characters but I can't seem to find them. Can someone please point me to them?

Sorry, a small sidebar was cut during layout for space necessities at page 118. It was:

Scaling the Caverns Up [CHEAD]
If the players aren't using funnel characters, feel free to make the River Caverns a little harder, increasing the number of extras of each encounter by one, but only when more than one extra is present (so, if an encounter says Lurkers (2), you can insert three of them, while if it says Vaarathi Lizard (1), it remains one). You can also raise Vigor and Fighting of the Giant Centipede by one die level.

These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
