Cha'alt: Fuchsia Malaise

ADD TO WISHLIST >

"Like Cha’alt before it, Cha’alt: Fuchsia Malaise is a sandbox that allows the party the freedom to explore and go wherever they want. There is always something weird and unique around the corner." ~ The Mixed GM

"...all in all, Venger Satanis has stepped up the already impressive complexity and challenge in Cha'alt to a whole new level. If your players are looking for a game where they feel like they are winning against impossible odds, Cha'alt: Fuscia Malaise is an excellent choice. The setting is gritty, lethal, and bizarre all at once." ~ Deathtrap Games

Cha'alt: Fuchsia Malaise is a continuation of the Cha'alt campaign setting and dungeon extravaganza.  Eldritch, gonzo, science-fantasy, post-apocalyptic awesomeness compatible with the original RPG all the way up to 5th edition.

In this book, I detail the city of A'agrybah, along with various adventuring locales - the largest being an offworlder high-tech facility called Elysium. Lots of gorgeous maps, random tables, NPCs, magic items, and monsters.

The PDF has been fully optimized and is ready to rock!  The Appendix includes updated versions of - Crimson Dragon Slayer D20, Cha'alt Ascended, and OSR Like A Fucking Boss.

Enjoy,

VS

p.s. The luxurious Cha'alt: Fuchsia Malaise hardcovers have arrived and will be available for purchase in December, direct from me (check Venger's Old School Gaming Blog for details).

Hello Mr Satanis, or whatever form of eldritch tongue you use today. I wanted to give a happy late congratulations on reaching electrum for this particular part of your trilogy. I look forward to seeing the Kickstarter for the third part next year… or was it this month? Although speaking of Kickstarters, I’m sorry to learn that you couldn’t do everything you wanted with the original Cha’alt. While I, and many others I’m sure, are very happy to have it it seems like you had a lot more crazy gonzo ooze to unleash. I hope that one day it might be possible to go back and let those ideas see the light of day, especially the bestiary. A “Black Pyramid:Electric K’tulu” edition if you will. Also make sure people on Cha’alt never get ahold of an Amethyst ring of XXX. Apparently when two things of Putrescence get together it involves lots of slime, hovering curiously, and visiting K’tulu’s bar where everyone knows your name.

Hi Michael,

Thanks for the message. I'm hoping to have enough funding to really do book three of the Cha'alt trilogy justice. More gonzo is on its way!

Hello once more Mr. Satanis. I doubt you will read this by the time the kickstarter is over, but I’m still going to put it here in the hopes of being heard. At the current rate of progression I doubt Chartreuse Shadows will get the funding it needs. While I don’t have the cash to financially contribute, I hope that there will be a way for us to see what you have made. I know it might not be at where you wanted, but I also know it means a lot to those of us who’ve become invested in this series. So I’m taking every point of divine favor I have and putting it into this one request. Let Chartreuse Shadows see the light of day, and may it be here for us to read and be inspired by.

Well this comment aged horribly, but I’ve never been more happy to be wrong. I underestimated the community and I sincerely apologize for that. Know that once Chartreuse Shadows shows up here, I’ll be sure to snag a copy as fast as I can. Congrats Venger, and congratulations to the community too.

This is a shortened version of a review that I posted on my blog, Welcome to the Deathtrap. You can read the whole thing here: https://deathtrap-games.blogspot.com/2020/08/game-review-chaalt-fuscia-malaise.html

I posted this as a comment at the author's request.

**Author:** Venger As'nas Satanis
**Publisher:** Kort'thalis Publishing
**System:** Crimson Dragon Slayer d20 Revised

Cha'alt: Fuscia Malaise is the second in a planned Trilogy of books in the Gonzo science fantasy setting Cha'alt. It is such a shortly after the events in the original Cha'alt, and things are getting even more lethal as an alien Mega-corporation, Elysium, has taken over the spice fracking operations on the planet, and stealing the planet's dwindling moisture as well. The Sk'bah desert is becoming progressively more lethal as the ecosystem collapses.

...all in all, Venger Satanis has stepped up the already impressive complexity and challenge in Cha'alt to a whole new level....See more

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
