A Dozen Destructive Dragons
Regular price: $1.50
Bundle price:
 $1.00
Format:
 PDF
This PDF was created for those gamemasters who wish to include dragons in the campaign. Personally, I have always thought that dragons should rarely appear in any campaign; an overuse of dragons can remove the sense of awe that the party should face each time that they encounter a dragon. This PDF was created thanks to the support of 1,995 backers who joined in the Kickstarter campaign for A Dozen Frightening Rumors. Thank you to all of the supporters for making that campaign a success!...

A Dozen Distressing Rumors
Regular price: $1.50
Bundle price:
 $1.00
Format:
 PDF
Building on the many, many rumors that have already been written for the A Dozen . . . series of PDFs, the twelve rumors within these pages offer up more of the same. More full-page concepts that the gamemaster may use as the basis for a new encounter, a new adventure, or maybe just as background flavor to add depth to the campaign. As always, each rumor includes a basic bit of info to set the scene and also details both a true and false result, giving the GM ideas on where the rumor may take the action during gameplay. This PDF was created thanks to the support of 1,995 backers who joined in the Kickstarter campaign for A Dozen Frightening Rumors. Thank you to all of the supporters for making that campaign a success!...

A Dozen Dungeon Denizens
Regular price: $1.50
Bundle price:
 $1.00
Format:
 PDF
Populating the dungeon is easy, right? You flip open a book of monsters, select a creature, and toss it behind the next door just as the adventurers are about to bash it down and continue their quest for treasure. At least, that’s one – very valid, in my opinion – way to approach stocking the dungeon with inhabitants. Or, if you wish, you can take a different approach and make each monster found in the dungeon a little more than the speedbump between the heroes and their ultimate goal: finding more treasure! A Dozen Dungeon Denizens details twelve monsters that are ready to join the more generic beasties in your next dungeon design. While a systemless work – like all of the entries in the A Dozen . . . series – this PDF includes more than just the n...

A Dozen Dungeon Encounters
Regular price: $1.50
Bundle price:
 $1.00
Format:
 PDF
After the creation of The Book of Dungeon Encounters (available now in PDF), I thought it would be fun to return to the dungeon with a dozen new encounter ideas. As a part of the A Dozen . . . series, each of the encounters that follow fit on a single page, making it easy for you – the gamemaster! – to print only the encounter you need for the current game session. As with the other entries in this series, A Dozen Dungeon Encounters is a systemless work. You will need to provide the game statistics necessary to fit your preferred roleplaying game.  This PDF was created thanks to the support of 1,995 backers who joined in the Kickstarter campaign for A Dozen Frightening Rumors. Thank you to all of the supporters for making that campaign a su...

A Dozen Frightening Rumors
Regular price: $1.50
Bundle price:
 $1.00
Format:
 PDF
Welcome back, gamemasters! Thanks to your support of my work, we’re back with another wave of the A Dozen . . . series: wave three, the third batch of PDFs within a single year! None of this would be possible without the support of the Kickstarter backers. Now that we’re all clear on how and why we got here, it’s time to move on with things so that we can dive into the real reason you’re here: twelve new rumors that you can use as inspiration when you’re sitting down to craft a new fantasy adventure! Following the model set in the A Dozen Sinister Rumors and A Dozen Troubling Rumors titles, the pages that follow offer you, the gamemaster, a story hook that you can elaborate on to create your own adventure. In addition to the setup, eac...

A Dozen More City Encounters
Regular price: $1.50
Bundle price:
 $1.00
Format:
 PDF
Welcome back to the city! A Dozen City Encounters, created thanks to the support of Kickstarter backers, has proven to be one of the most popular of the titles created as a part of the A Dozen Sinister Rumors campaign. That PDF has outsold several others since the close of the Kickstarter campaign, so it just makes sense that a second volume would be a must. And what better way to bring new city encounters into existence than as a companion to the Fantasy City Sites and Scenes series? The following twelve encounters are for those of you who need even more inspiration for your city sessions. This PDF was created thanks to the support of 1,995 backers who joined in the Kickstarter campaign for A Dozen Frightening Rumors. Thank you to all of the su...

A Dozen More Dungeon Treasures
Regular price: $1.50
Bundle price:
 $1.00
Format:
 PDF
After the second wave of A Dozen . . . series PDFs dove deep into specific treasure items with A Dozen Magic Armors, A Dozen Magic Helmets, and A Dozen Magic Shields, we return to a smorgasbord of dungeon treasures. This sequel to the first wave PDF, A Dozen Dungeon Treasures, brings you items that can be scattered throughout your campaign, either by dropping them into dungeons or making them available to the player characters when they visit the local magic shop. (A Dozen Magic Shops would make for a fun PDF, yes?) As always, the items that follow do not include speciifc game statistics. Instead, gamemasters must create the stats for their game of choice. Where stat-like language is used, it is intended ...

A Dozen More Strange Locations
Regular price: $1.50
Bundle price:
 $1.00
Format:
 PDF
A sequel to A Dozen Strange Locations, this PDF brings you another round of places that you can drop into your campaign as either a destination for the player characters to seek out or as an unusual spot that they come across when journeying across the game world.  The entries that follow are each limited to a single page. If you’re a fan of using paper at the table, you may choose to print only the page that you will need to use the chosen place. If you prefer using digital tools to manage your campaign, then you may want to copy the text from this document and paste it into your own file. Doing that will allow you to make changes and additions directly to the text, making the place your own. As with other entries in the A Dozen . . . series of PDFs, ther...

A Dozen Peculiar Lizardfolk
Regular price: $1.50
Bundle price:
 $1.00
Format:
 PDF
Similar in style to A Dozen Goblins and Orcs, this entry in the A Dozen . . . series of PDFs provides you, the gamemaster, with twelve lizardfolk creatures that the player characters may meet during the campaign. A mix of non-player characters – intended to be used for roleplaying encounters – and monsters, the lizardfolk described on the following pages should (I hope) offer something for everyone, regardless of the type of game that you and your players enjoy. At the worst, each one gives you a starting point when creating encounters. As always, you will not find game statistics on the following pages. This work exists as an inspirational tool for the GM and, as a systemless work, you will need to create any of the statistics necessary to use these liza...

A Dozen Strange Locations
Regular price: $1.50
Bundle price:
 $1.00
Format:
 PDF
Adventurers need a steady stream of places to visit. Abandoned fortresses. Long-forgotten dungeons. Haunted woods. Distant villages. All of these and more must exist in your campaign world if the party is to have a near-limitless number of options when it comes time to set off for a new destination, and that is where A Dozen Strange Locations might come in handy. The twelve places that follow are each intended as either a destination site – maybe the heroes have heard rumors of the place and wish to visit it – or as someplace that they stumble across when journeying from point A to point B. Regardless of how they get there, these locations should serve you well when it comes time to toss the PCs into a new encounter. As always, the entries that follow are limited to a ...

A Dozen Terrifying Rumors
Regular price: $1.50
Bundle price:
 $1.00
Format:
 PDF
Now that there are over thirty entries in the modern series of A Dozen . . . PDFs, I find that some of my favorite to write are the various rumors titles. Why is that? Because they give me the chance to create one-shot, entertaining scenario ideas that – I hope! – gamemasters find useful both as background noise and, at times, the skeleton of a complete game session. Just in case this is your introduction to the A Dozen . . . series, let’s go over the basics of the line: • Each PDF is a systemless work, which requires the gamemaster to provide any necessary game statistics. I offer some very basic mechanical suggestions at times, but the heavy-lifting is left to the GM. • The PDF’s ultimate goal is to inspire gamemasters. It is my hope that as yo...

A Dozen Whispered Rumors
Regular price: $1.50
Bundle price:
 $1.00
Format:
 PDF
As a gamemaster, you can never have enough ideas in your bag of tricks. When the party sets off in a random direction, far from the course you had planned, it is vital that you’re ready with something to keep the action flowing and the group entertained. That’s where A Dozen Whispered Rumors comes into the picture. This set of twelve ideas is ready for you to add the most important ingredients of all: your willingness to adapt and your own imagination. This PDF was created thanks to the support of 1,995 backers who joined in the Kickstarter campaign for A Dozen Frightening Rumors. Thank you to all of the supporters for making that campaign a success!...

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
