Weather Hex Flower

This Hex Flower enables you to generate weather in a random yet reasonably consistent way.

I'm very happy for you to pay nothing for this product; and anything given to me will only be frittered away on RPG-related wares anyway. That said, even a nominal sum like 50 cents seems to bump this thing up the DriveThru charts, and it encourages me to make more things like this!

I just found this on the first page of the most popular free offerings on DriveThruRPG. That's really cool.. but now I don't know why it says it's only a silver seller..?

Well.. that doesn't seem fair. Still.. You're on the front page, anyway. ;)

Question about moving off the map. What happens if your move is diagonal? For instance, if you're in the bottom-most hex, and roll a 4, that would move you down and right, off the map. Where do you go? Would you go to the exact opposite side, the sun-and-rain hex on the lower left? Or would you move "across" to the same row, which would still leave you at the bottom hex?

Hi Christopher - when directed off the Hex Flower, you move following the same column or 'row' rejoining the HF. So in your example, yes, you'd end up in the bottom HEX of the first column. Hope that helps.

I emailed you about a missing arrow between the explanation, "in cold weather the drops can be snow, sleet or hail" and the cloud with three rain droplets. I think a version 1.5 would set things right. Otherwise, excellent work.

You know what? I went back and did the same! This is incredibly cool and useful, and works for just about any genre of RPG. I'm going to be using it for years, so why the heck not. :)

I know right?! I love these little hex flowers. One of these days, I'm going to sit down and figure out how to get them plugged in to Foundry. :D If it works, I'll pass it back to the Captain here, and he can try to market it, if he wants. :)

This is great!

Just wanted to let you know I might have spotted an error in v1.2 of the PDF.

On Page 1, the left side of the hex only has "11" and "9"

On Page 2, it looks like the numbers display correctly, with "10 11" and "8 9"

Keep up the good work!

Looks good, thanks! Also, I just noticed on page two, there are three little red X's above the top (Hazard) hex and a little red x below the lowest hex. But none of these little red X's are on page one. Is it supposed to be that way?

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
