Sabre & Powder: Otherworld - Fantasy Expansion

ADD TO WISHLIST >

The year 1749 marked another turning point in Gaia’s history. Magus Pazuzi has unwittingly allowed for the return of Gaia’s connection to Universal Energy, and Species from the Otherworld.

Following the theme of alternate history within the Sabre & Powder setting, Sabre & Powder: Otherworld allows for elements of Fantasy such as Magic and new Species to be introduced to the story.

Included within this Expansion are Magical Abilities, the new Skills of Alchemy, Talismans and Hexes, and directions for creating new Species for your games.

______________________________________________________

The Magus Pazuzi, formerly the philosopher and demonologist Percival Thomas, has unlocked one vital secret of the trove of Pazuzu. Through years of research and experimentation Magus Pazuzi has opened a channel to the Otherworld – a connection to Universal Energy which has laid dormant for centuries. His secret Tower in the Carpathian Mountains is home to the New World Portal, a portal of energy which allows those from other worlds to return once more to Gaia. It is also the conduit via which Magic has returned to the Corporeal Realm (Earth). Unlike his predecessor Merlin, however, Magus Pazuzi jealously guards the secrets of Magic and believes he is the physical embodiment of Universal balance on Gaia. Owing to this, only a small number of humans are able to realise their full Magical abilities. Many other Species who seek to visit Gaia are also held at bay, banished back to the Otherworld by Pazuzi and his followers.
Those who are able to manifest their abilities in full are viewed with suspicion, in a time where fear, ignorance, and witch-hunts are already a genuine concern. Those who commune with the Otherworld to broaden their powers or make contact with other Species do so in a world within a world, and at their own risk. The year is 1749, and it is time once more for Gaia to experience the Otherworld.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
