Tegel Manor (SW)

ADD TO WISHLIST >

First published by The Judges Guild in 1977, Tegel Manor is the oldest of the “Haunted House” adventures in fantasy roleplaying and probably the very first mega-dungeon ever published. The Manor is a sprawling edifice of 250+ rooms filled with tricks, traps, puzzles, monsters, and situations both humorous and horrific. The huge manor house has been the curse of its owners, the Rump family, for generations. No matter how many times they have tried to get rid of it, the ownership manages to come back to them.

This intertwined and sinister relationship between the house and its chosen family is a history of horror, evil, and greed. There is a lot for characters to learn about the curse, and their knowledge might just keep them alive long enough to tell the tale. If you’ve already seen the 1977 version of the Manor, there’s a lot more for you to experience in this updated and expanded 5e version of the classic. This printing contains more detailed descriptions of the rooms, new areas, new monsters, new magic items, and much more, all with spectacular color illustrations.

All Judge’s Guild royalties are contractually required to ONLY support the City State of the Invincible Overlord Kickstarter. See here: https://bit.ly/2V5UGz8 for more info.

Is there a larger map file for sale to go with this PDF? I cannot find a full map in the book, just portions. Maybe I missed it?

A text version of a bit.ly link that goes to a Facebook page that I can't access doesn't tell me anything useful. :(

Thank you for bringing this to our attention Jean. Though we like to assume everyone has access to a Facebook account, we acknowledge this isn’t the case for everyone. Here is copied version of the posting that is mentioned in the link above for your convenience:

“Recently the owner of Judges Guild made a series of racist and anti-semitic posts on Facebook. We will not reproduce them here; they are shown on Rob Conley's Bat in the Attic blog, and we are convinced of their authenticity. Rob wrote his post because, as a licensee of Judges Guild property, he felt he needed to state clearly that he would not be doing business with Judges Guild in the future. We have also licensed property from Judges Guild in the past, and we are seconding Rob's example by cutting off all future business with Judges Guild. The posts made on Facebook were completely unacceptable”.

Thanks. :)

And yeah, not everyone is a Facebook product.

When I first saw the spew from Bob II last year, I didn't want to believe it. I only knew Bob Sr. for the last 8 years of his life, but I can't imagine Bob II learned this from his dad. I treasure my old JG products, but I will not buy anything Bob II gets a penny from.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
