A Stealthy Thief

A Stealthy Thief

A thief that leaves no trail has been stealing Lord Fiax's livestock.  Who better to track down something that can't be tracked than a group of ambitious young adventurers?  A Stealthy Thief is a micro-adventure designed to take less than an hour to run.  Perfect for a launch adventure for brand new campaigns or as a filler or side quest for an existing one, A Stealthy Thief is scaleable to fit party's level one to level eight.

This supplement is a complete micro-adventure packed into five pages.  This supplement includes background information on the adventure area, three different scenarios depending on the level of the party, and detailed NPC backgrounds that can be used to flesh out your world and provide fodder for future adventures.  You don't even need to roll random treasure.  It's already included for you.

Designed for use with d20/OGL games, A Stealthy Thief gives you a quick ready-to-use micro-adventure to help jump start your campaign...or just to kill time while waiting on a late player!

Despite the mediocre reviews, I picked up this pdf mostly because it was free and it seemed like a nice short adventure. As I read through it, though, I realized that it is an excellent starting-off point for a new campaign. With a decent amo [...]

This adventure is a bit too micro. I find it hard to believe there will be a party out there that will take an hour to run through the adventure, as the cover states "Hour or less Micro adventure." My current party would be done with it in 15 [...]

I thought this micro-adventure was a bit too micro. The opening scene and NPC information was good and I liked some of the descriptive text about the environment, the manor, etc. Some of the NPC speeches were competently written. I liked the artwork. [...]

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
