Character Secrets - Waterdeep: Dragon Heist
Publisher: Dungeon Masters Guild

So, Waterdeep: Dragon Heist is, at least in my opinion an amazing product for those who want some more deepth in their character creation. Pop this baby out at session 0 and character creation and you will easily have even the staunchest "plays the same character every time" traditionalists experimenting more than a bit. That at least is how I will use it, randomly distribute them and build haracters with that in mind, you could just as easily read some out to players or match them with their pre-made characters according to your own wicked DM heart.

The secrets range from subtle and engaging like owing money to certain npcs appearing in the adventure to amazing situations like being a polymorphed dragon, an intellect devourer or Volo having a restraining order against you (Psch, that hack would be lucky to have one of MY characters obsess over him, while Daerdan on another hand now that's a REAL author).

Overall give it a shot, it showcases the best parts of dnd 5th edition, it is simple, but can have a lot of depth, and a GM will have plenty of hooks to use in this relatively cheap PDF. At just over ten cents a hook, I find it more than worth its price. (Hell I paid fluff writers for a company webpage more per word. And trust me their quality was way worse.)

Daerdan's Class Feats | Volume II

Another marvelous supplement with options to make every class unique. From options fleshing out the patron of the warlock, at least two for every one, to an extra focus for ranger's favoured enemies allowing them to further specialise in hunting their prey and granting them a bit of an expanded spellcasting list to better take down their chosen quarry. Most impressive and flavourful to me are the two different takes on the whip an underrated weapon can now shine in the hands of a rogue, disarming their enemies, or bringing fear and pain in the hands of a conquest paladin sadly a feat for optimising leather armour to complete the conquest look wasn't included. Overall with limited playtesting I haven't noticed any blatant balance issues and after a careful read nothing jumps out, still players are creative and someone will manage to break balance with the right combination from multiple 3rd party sources I allow. I'm looking at you Dae. When it comes to creativity and ability to make unique builds, this book shines. Paladin focused on unarmed combat? Done Pacifist who ensures thheir enemies stay alive? You bet you can do that Sniper? Lashmaster? Wizard who can punch things? Done. Done. Done. I'm giving this book my personal reccomendation and a full on 5/5 rating. It would be six if there was leather to go with the whip for the Paladin ;)

This is a great product, one of the best necromancer-themed books I've read but it's biggest flaw is that it's locked so one cannot copy and paste anything from the pdf. In a book which is all about creating monsters the fact I have to type everything manually is worthy of knocking off 2 stars. Maybe it is a bit unresonable, but other than that the product is great. The options are plenty and are pretty balanced, though the first three pages could do with better formatting. Addendum. I'm sorry DriveThru. I love you but I must send everyone to buy this on Paizo's webstore. That one has a properly set up pdf from which you can copy the feats/abilities/text..

Save Vs. Cave: Blood Shrine

One of the best map sets I've purchased on this site, and it's rather cheap to boot. It may lack "included" furniture etc but the files include props one can easily insert themself. It'll do perfectly as the temple-plane of my blood goddess... Lets see if we can add some PC blood to those pools. Only thing "really" missing was a throne prop for the throne-room. But I had one already, and finding one freely distributed is easy, so not really a complaint. Do yourself a favour and just buy this. The hassle free castle is amazing as well, I'll review that one when I get to it. PS Another matter which I need to touch upon is file size. These maps all can easily be used in a VTT like fantasy grounds (which gets finicky if overloaded with a large image) without having to downscale them (As is the case with some giant maps from Heroic Maps, I love Heroic Maps but downscaling some of those maps was a bitch)
