A blast from the distant past of the dire wolf shifters, warts and all.

Love how the book cleverly reminds me that these are NOT Garou and how different they were from both a priorities and social level, compared to their warrior 'cousins' across the pond. I enjoyed looking at a job that is surprisingly neglected throughout all the mandates of the Fera.

We're always told how in the past the Wyld was a great threat before but strangely there was never a Fera who kept an eye on this raw chaos and it was a shared effort to keep it in line without elaborating.

I enjoy this work because it gave me a reason for 'why and how' you could take Fera from the Pure lands and drop them into Eurasia for a story and elaborated on how difficult it was to keep up with the Wyld and the extreme measures one may need to go through to keep things from getting out of control without being totally consumed by it's overwhelming power.

If you want an enjoyable and contained story for Savage Age and want to try something new I highly recommend.

This has to be one of the better Tribebook reads. I love the history and dynamics of this breed of fera. It really opened up my North American Campaign and gave me great uses for societies of people on the continent. This book does not disappoint and is an asset to the Savage Age and your modern Chronicle as a whole.

Easily my favorite of the new Fera. I love the aspects of these guys. Policing the Wyld while always fighting to keep their rage under control. I had so many fun and challenging ideas while reading this I wanted more of it! Their story is so interesting and tragic and fits really well into the greater idea of the world of darkness. Weaponized Ink is doing amazing work and this is, for my money, top tier work.

This sourcebook shows great creativity on the part of Weaponized Ink Project, especially as it is a response to a minor plot point presented in Shattered Dreams. Despite not being entirely sold on a new changing breed, even with the arguments presented by the authors, the conversion from Naghaluu to Garou can be easily done. The rest of the book can be used to add several interesting story hooks in a running Chronicle.

Another excellent book in the Savage Age series and oen that captures the tragedy inherent in the War of Rage and the cycle of violence that the Garou and Fera are trapped in.

BLUF: Buy this book at least for the readability of the work. It is by far the most interesting work so far presented in the Savage Age line. Focused on the Were-Dire Wolves as they existed in the Americas, the book adds a lot of depth to the concept that the Wyld is the member of the Triat that's messing things up in the era. The details of the War of Many Teeth and how it had modern day ramifications are also interesting and makes perfect sense. If an update for this book occurred that brought in more Savage Age lore, this book would be a steal $8. It only needs a few small tweaks to really turn this Tribebook into the best Savage Age product.

Now for the criticism: The book suffers a little from it being an early book of the Savage Age and currently has minimal crossover with the other Savage Age books. I also think that some players might be a little turned off from the way aspect gifts are treated, but I personally think they make sense and add to the uniqueness of this Fera.

Really enjoyed this book. Good addition to the history of the World of Darkness. Interesting to read about those who are similar to Garou yet not them. Good mission for them also, the purging and controlling of wyld places. Makes sense for those ancient times to have too much wyld. A tragic story for these not-quite-Garou, punished for looking like Garou.

I fully plan to introduce some of these gifts, fetishes and lore into my game. Maybe it's time for long slumbering spirits to awaken.

Although at first I thought of giving it four stars, for me any RPG product that keeps me interested to read it completely in the same day deserves 5 stars. It gives you a few interesting ideas to play with if you have one of the best books ever produced for werewolf, Shatered Dreams, and expands the theme there that the War of Rage was fought making horrible mistakes by both sides. Mechanically I don't think they are well balanced, I think that they should not be more powerful than a Garou. I understand the reasoning behind the four point in stamina-crinos form, but the book of Changing Breeds make the Khan less phisically powerful than Garou, and Tigers are really big!. I also didn't liked their rage, combining the rage of both Gurhal and Garou makes them really powerful (maybe they should have only Ghural-rage until rank three were they "unlock" full auspices?). But the background for them was beautiful and well-made, and it gave me a few story-ideas for my loooong shattered dreams chronicles. I also think that you should add the knives of the council to the book, making them weapon-fetishes that you could inherit with the intrinsic responsabilities. Please forgive spelling mistakes in the review as english is not my native tongue. Keep up the good work!

Santiago, Thank you so much for the review and the kind words. We worked hard to make the Naghaluu interesting and fun -- both mechanically and in terms of background. I think your criticisms are reasonable. As background -- we debated about the stamina buff in crinos, but figured the Naghaluu should be at the extreme end of the stamina ladder. Stamina serves them well in their fight against the Wyld because of its mercurial nature. Also, because their Gifts are so heavily restricted, we felt the bump in the stamina stat was a little less onerous. So, we decided to go big, but are happy to consider changing it (thats the wonder of these e-books - we can still make changes based on useful feedback like yours). Your feedback is super useful. We plan to expand on the Lodge of the Nine Knives either as an expansion within this book or as its own stand-along product (with the Fera-knives statted out, of course). Stay tuned! (and your English is just fine)
