Wonderful adventure, played it with a group of mostly new players. Lovely illustrations and typesetting, helpfull remarks on how to DM specific scenarios, so also a learning opportunity for the DM. The campaign was easily adaptable, with a large amount of flexibility built in (ex. rumors, different scenarios accounted for, a list of disasters, etc.). The same for the setting; it is full of exciting curiousities, yet still everything is linked, hence it's easy to allow the players complete freedom while always giving them a chance to get to the core of the puzzles. My group most definitely didn't play "by the book", and we had a lot of fun for it. Good hooks for almost any character background. Some small typos. Didn't use the maps but appreciate that they exist. Good ending, can be left open-ended to tie in to future adventures, or closed off. The players also continue with some interesting treasures. 5/5, looking forward to further adventures.

I was very impressed with this scenario. There was a lot more to it than I originally thought, and it was a ton of fun to play. It's a nice scenario for beginners, and was very well laid out. It includes tons of detailed maps and snippets that really bring it to life. This was the first 3rd party scenario I've ever bought, and I'm super happy with it.

As a first-time player, this was a great introductory adventure. It had a perfect mix of fun, challenge, and lovable characters.

I really love this funny, quick adventure and I feel it would be perfect for a group new to D&D and for a DM sick of running Phandelvar's Lost Mines. It has a nice mix of combat encounters, roleplaying opportunities and many puzzles and tricks for any inquisitive or curious players to solve. There is also just the right amout of detail for DM's to easily expand on anything players might want to further explore and it easily fits into any campaigns that you might want to run as a further story/adventure.

Unique and refreshing low level Adventure with a lot of interesting locations and npcs, an entertaining story, surprisingly high quality artwork and an easily readable and pretty layout. Looks like plenty of fun content for ~2 months of weekly sessions. I especially like the very atmospheric town setting and the wizard tower, and I can see myself using this as a starting/setup adventure before a longer, high level campaign since the early levels in a lot of the official modules are a bit dull. The "Designers notes" are also a nice touch for the DM to understand the reasoning of the writer. 5/5 would recommend!

TGBI is an adventure written with love and care. Albeit the debut work of Brunner, it stands up to most scrutiny given and never fails to evoke a grin while reading and belly laughter while playing.

A overall marvelous first effort. Looking forward to further work of the author.
